BASU SACCO goes beyond financial services to address the real-life challenges faced by women, girls, youth, and vulnerable households in the Rwenzori region through targeted community development and resilience programs.
Note: This page covers BASU SACCO's community impact and resilience programs — distinct from our regulated SACCO financial services. For SACCO services (savings, loans, membership), visit the Services page. To support any program financially, visit the Support Us page.
BASU SACCO does not only provide financial services. We respond to the real-life realities of the women, families, girls, youth, and vulnerable households we serve through community-centered development programs that build capacity, resilience, health, food security, and sustainable livelihoods in the Rwenzori region of Western Uganda.
"We began as a savings group. But the needs we saw around us — flooding, school dropouts, poor sanitation, food insecurity — required more than a savings account. BASU became a platform for full community resilience."
— BASU SACCO Leadership

Tracking financial literacy, enterprise management, and climate adaptation workshops conducted by expert instructors for members.
