Donor & Member Trust

Our Commitment to Absolute Accountability

At BASU Rural Women SACCO, we operate under strict transparency rules. Because we are a member-owned cooperative, every shilling saved, lent, or donated belongs to the community. We maintain rigorous double-entry bookkeeping, digital ledger backups, and subject all financial statements to independent external audits registered under the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Co-operatives of Uganda.

Where Do Pledged Donor Funds Go?

Unlike centralized international NGOs with massive administrative overheads and marketing budgets, BASU is a grassroots cooperative. 100% of donor-directed pledges go directly to community operations:

  • Purchasing physical enterprise starter kits (sewing machines, beehives, agricultural tools).
  • Excavating and stocking community aquaculture fish ponds.
  • Financing expert-led vocational and financial literacy training workshops.
  • Providing clean-energy household cooking stoves at highly subsidized rates.
