Program 5 of 7

Education

Educate a girl and you change a community.

Our objective

Promote access to education for children, particularly girls, and support lifelong learning for women.

Why it matters

Basu is dedicated to improving educational outcomes in rural communities, focusing on girls and young women, who so often face the greatest barriers to education.

What the program includes

  1. Scholarships and financial assistance

Financial support for children, especially girls, who are at risk of dropping out because of money. It helps cover school fees, uniforms and educational materials so that children can stay in school.

  2. Adult literacy programs

Literacy programs for adults, particularly women who never had the chance to go to school, build basic reading, writing and numeracy skills and strengthen women's ability to take part in economic life.

  3. Mentorship and career guidance

Career counseling and mentorship help older children and young women make informed choices about their education and future careers, which is essential to breaking the cycle of poverty.

  4. Community awareness campaigns

Campaigns that raise awareness of the importance of education, particularly for girls, help change cultural attitudes and lower the barriers to schooling in rural areas.

Come and be part of it.

Whether you are a woman ready to start saving or an organization ready to partner, we would love to hear from you.
