Program 6 of 7

Apprenticeship Training

Learn the trade by working beside people who practice it.

Our objective

Provide hands-on, job-ready skills to young women and men to help them secure stable employment or start their own businesses.

Why it matters

The Apprenticeship Training program gives young people real-world skills and work experience that can lead to employment or to a business of their own. It is especially valuable for young people who have not had access to formal education but have every potential to learn a trade.

What the program includes

  1. Structured apprenticeships

Basu partners with local businesses and artisans to run structured apprenticeships. Participants work alongside experienced practitioners to gain practical knowledge and technical skills in trades such as carpentry, tailoring and metalworking.

  2. Support for self-employment

For those who want to start their own business, Basu offers entrepreneurial training, including guidance on business planning, financial management and marketing, so apprentices can move into self-employment after training.

  3. Job placement and internships

After their apprenticeship, Basu helps participants find employment or internships with local businesses and artisans, improving their chances of finding permanent work.

Come and be part of it.

Whether you are a woman ready to start saving or an organization ready to partner, we would love to hear from you.
