Program 3 of 7

Skilling

A skill in your hands is independence for life.

Our objective

Equip women, youth and marginalized community members with the skills to secure jobs, create businesses and achieve financial independence.

Why it matters

The Skilling program focuses on vocational training and skill development for women and youth, helping them find employment or start businesses of their own. It teaches practical skills that can change a family's economic situation.

What the program includes

  1. Vocational training

Hands-on training in sectors such as tailoring, carpentry, hairdressing, baking and agriculture. These skills enable people to become self-employed or more employable.

  2. Youth empowerment

The program specifically reaches young women and men, giving them the tools to enter the workforce or launch an enterprise. It reduces youth unemployment and gives young people a sense of purpose and economic independence.

  3. Apprenticeships and internships

Basu connects trainees with local businesses for practical apprenticeship opportunities, giving them real-world experience and improving their chances of work after training.

  4. Business and entrepreneurship development

Alongside vocational training, Basu provides business development services: guidance on creating business plans, managing finances and marketing products, so people can run their own businesses successfully and strengthen local economies.

Come and be part of it.

Whether you are a woman ready to start saving or an organization ready to partner, we would love to hear from you.
